As concerns over COVID-19 continue to increase, we at Duet want to take this opportunity to assure stakeholders, guardians and family members of those we support that we are taking extra precautions to keep your loved ones, as well as our employees, as safe as possible during this time of crisis. Our office has been keeping a close eye on the situation and are following recommended guidelines from the Center of Disease Control, State of Nebraska, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Douglas County Health Department. Effective March 18th all of our day locations and offices will be closed. We will reassess this situation on March 27th for potential re-openings on March 30th. For updates please visit our Facebook page at Duet Nebraska or call our Update Hotline at 402-444-6501 for an automated message on updates related to COVID-19. We will also be posting all closures to local media news outlets. Duet will continue to follow the recommendations of the CDC for both our day and residential locations including but not limited to:
- Employee education on COVID-19
- Limiting visitors
- Limiting community involvement
- Continuous monitoring for symptoms
- Reschedule non-urgent medical visits
- Use of proper hand and respiratory hygiene
- Thorough sanitizing at all locations
We will continue to have nursing staff on call 24/7 that can direct our employees to the appropriate medical professionals for quick action if any COVID-19 symptoms or other medical emergencies arise. This is a constantly evolving situation we are closely monitoring. We hope you understand this difficult decision we had to make to help minimize the risk of infection from COVID-19.
Our management and administrative employees are continuing to work. If any questions or concerns arise, please do not hesitate to contact the people you have come to know and trust within Duet.
As always, our focus is to ensure the well-being of those we support and our employees. We’re all in this together.
Sincerely,
Debbie Herbel
