Joining Duet in 2016, Megan has thrived in the supportive and engaging environment at the Blair residential and day location. Megan shares a home with two roommates, she really enjoys watching movies and hanging out with them. Some of her favorite activities she’s done at Duet include attending Disney on Ice and trick-or-treating at the zoo’s “Ghouls and Glow” Halloween event. She appreciates the staff's friendliness, helpfulness, and the fun activities they organize.
Megan works three days a week at OPPD, assisting with various tasks around the office and takes pride in being a hard worker. Additionally, she is a Special Olympics athlete, competing in track, bowling, and bocce ball. She enjoys practicing, competing, and meeting other Special Olympic athletes.
In her free time, she loves watching her favorite TV shows, "Friends" and "Boy Meets World," and classic movies like "Pretty in Pink" and "16 Candles." Her favorite music includes 80s hits, NSYNC, and the Backstreet Boys. Megan enjoys going out to eat with her mom at Applebee's and Texas Roadhouse.
Holidays are special to Megan, with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and her birthday being her top celebrations. Family is also important to Megan, and she enjoys spending time with her mom, siblings, nieces and nephews. Traveling with friends and her mom is another passion, with memorable recent trips to Des Moines, the Mall of America in Minnesota, and Virginia Beach. She is eagerly looking forward to an upcoming trip to North Carolina for a family wedding and is excited about shopping for a new dress for the occasion.
