Duet’s medical support units (MSUs) are fortunate to have staff who not only know the emergency procedures, but also meticulously follow them. They recently received a glowing kudos from an investigative nurse with the state following the need to put these procedures into action. The investigative nurse shared the following, “I’m reaching out to you about the emergent care given to [a person supported at Duet]. During my mortality investigation, I was thoroughly impressed with how the care team handled the emergency... It is apparent that the team are extremely knowledgeable in providing care in an emergency situation.” She went on to say, “I was impressed with how well the team handled the stressful situation. They completed the proper steps of assessing the situation and immediately implementing the proper emergency response. They took charge of the situation and showed resilience, knowledge, and critical thinking… The team did an outstanding job, and I wanted to make sure they are recognized for their efforts, as they have not gone unnoticed. Great job!”
The training and implementation of procedures by our staff are vital in approaching what we do daily. The tremendous work by this team shows the true meaning of teamwork. We are proud to have them at Duet and thank them for their upbeat and endless dedication to the people we support.
